Today we have announced three new artistic staff will be joining us to teach at the School from September 2014.

Carol-Anne Millar has been appointed as our new girls’ Artistic Teacher at White Lodge. Carol-Anne was a student of The Royal Ballet School both at White Lodge and the Upper School, going on to spend the next 16 years dancing with Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB), latterly as a Principal. Carol-Anne left BRB to train as a dance teacher and qualified with a PDTC from the Royal Academy of Dance.

Royal Ballet Soloist Kenta Kura has been appointed as the new boys’ Artistic Teacher at White Lodge. Kenta was a student of the Royal Ballet Upper School and went on to join The Royal Ballet, being promoted to Soloist in 2007. Kenta recently completed his dance teacher training on The Royal Ballet School’s PDTC course.

Former English National Ballet Principal Daria Klimentova will take up post as girls’ teacher for the new academic year at our Upper School. Daria recently finished her distinguished 18-year career as Principal with English National Ballet and this year qualified as a dance teacher through The Royal Ballet School’s PDTC course.

We are thrilled to announce that current Acting Director Jay Jolley will take up post as Artistic Teacher and Programme Manager at our Upper School.

Artistic Director Designate, Christopher Powney said:

‘It is incredibly exciting to be welcoming these three illustrious new members of staff to The Royal Ballet School.

‘Bringing with them their rich experience dancing with leading British ballet companies, they will help provide a continuity of training and ethos between the School and the companies.’
