Kenneth MacMillan Emerging Choreographer 2020

On Friday 11 December, Year 10 and 11 students presented eight choreographic creations as part of the Kenneth MacMillan Emerging Choreographer programme. The students not only created the pieces, but also cast their ballets, timetabled their rehearsals and had input into the costumes and lighting. This allowed the students to gain a real insight into the professional process of choreography.

We were particularly pleased this year that, after the challenges of training virtually during the summer, the students were able to celebrate being back at the School by exercising their creativity together on new choreographic work.

After the performance, a panel of experts including Leanne Benjamin, Matthew Bourne, Kerry Nicholls and Marcelino Sambé offered feedback to the students.
