New Senior Associate Short Course in Leeds

We are delighted to announce a new Senior Associate Short Course based at Yorkshire Dance, the School’s existing Associate Centre in Leeds.

Starting in October 2021, the programme will offer selected students in Years 10 and 11 the opportunity to participate in a series of six Sunday classes during the academic year 2021/2022, with two classes per term.

Each class will be taught by a Royal Ballet School Associate Teacher and will be three hours in duration. Classes will include ballet body conditioning exercises and a full ballet class, including pointework for female students.

Senior Associate classes are not currently available at the Leeds site. Depending on interest, this project may enable the School to establish a brand-new Senior Associate centre in the north of England.

Mark Annear, our Head of Training and Access, said:

We are excited to be able to offer access to Senior Associate ballet classes in a brand new location, with the hope of developing this pilot project into a longer-term programme for Year 10 and 11 students in the north of England.

The Associate programme is committed to the development of young dancers throughout the UK, and thrives on the energy and enthusiasm that the students bring to the programme. We look forward to meeting and working with a gifted group of new students in Leeds this autumn.

Please can i have details if the 6 day associate programme is also available for 11-13. My daughter is soon to turn 13. We are based in scotland and she is so keen for this. She has signed up for summer intensives online this year with RB . Many thanks

  2. Hi. Is there any training available for pupils in sixth form? My daughter has danced for over 10 years, just about to take her RAD intermediate and will be studying dance at A level. She missed out on a chance at Northern due to Covid and now too old (year 12 from September) she’d love to do something at Northern.
