Primary Steps after-school workshops

Year 3 pupils in Blackpool and Dagenham can now apply to take part in free Primary Steps after-school workshops, starting in September 2021.

The workshops offer a creative introduction to ballet taught by The Royal Ballet School’s Primary Steps teachers.
In both Blackpool and Dagenham there will be 28 places available, with the aim of achieving a class that is split equally between girls and boys.

Following on from these sessions, some children may be invited to join our after-school Primary Steps classes, providing weekly classes until the end of Year 6.

Applications are now closed however you can still join the waiting list for the classes in Dagenham and Blackpool.

When are the sessions?

Blackpool

• 23 and 30 September 2021
• 7, 14 and 21 October 2021
• 4, 11 and 18 November 2021
• 25 November 2021 (for invited children only)

Dagenham

• 21 and 28 September 2021
• 5, 12 and 19 October 2021
• 2 and 9 November 2021
• 16 November 2021 (for invited children only)

Who can apply?

Applications are open to pupils in Year 3 during academic year 2021/22 who are attending any school in Blackpool or Dagenham other than our partner primary schools. Year 3 pupils at these schools will already be receiving our in-school workshops.

How are pupils selected?

Applications will go into a ballot and be selected at random – there is no assessment process.
